Hi, I’m Amanda Bemis.
a self-taught creative turned web designer and aspiring full-stack developer.
My love for technology started back in middle school on good ol’ MySpace, when I’d spend hours learning bits of HTML and CSS just to make my profile stand out. That curiosity for code never left. In high school, I took web design and explored the full Adobe Suite, where I learned to design websites, create graphics, edit videos, and even build simple games.
After school, I used my design skills to help my husband with his T-shirt business — creating logos and preparing artwork for screen printing. Then in 2022, I launched my own candle business, where I rediscovered my love for design while building my website and branding. Designing the labels and layout quickly became my favorite part of the entire process.
That creative spark grew even stronger when I helped polish my husband’s painting and remodeling brand and launched his website. From there, I began helping friends and local entrepreneurs — like the brand Yerbanos — develop their online presence. Seeing their businesses come to life online is what truly fuels my passion.
Today, I’m expanding my skills by studying front-end and back-end development through freeCodeCamp and 100Devs by Leon Noel, with the goal of becoming a full-stack developer. I’m constantly learning, coding, and creating — often early in the morning or late at night — while balancing a full homeschool schedule and a house filled with love and laughter.
This journey has taught me that design isn’t just about how something looks — it’s about how it feels and how it works. I’m excited to keep building, learning, and helping more small businesses bring their ideas to life online.
